Date of Passing: Dec 09, 1999
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUSTIN CHRISTOPHER AUGUSTSON Suddenly on Thursday, December 9, 1999 in his 19th year, Justin Christopher Augustson left for a better place. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, March 26, 1980, Justin accompanied his parents to Borden, Ontario; Winnipeg; Cold Lake, Alberta; Ottawa, and finally back to Winnipeg. Justin was active in Air Cadets and enjoyed his time with them as a student and later as an instructor. His passion for and love of music encompassed both the Cadet band and John Taylor Jazz band. He loved to go skiing and fishing with his dad, dirt biking with his mom and dad and camping with his friends. Over his short life Justin played badminton, tennis and squash, and he beat his dad at all of them. He played hockey to teach his parents how to get up early, tried his hand at Karate, and even gymnastics. Justin was the light of our lives, the standard from which we measured our happiness. Although the light is gone a time will come when our memories of him will no longer bring forth the tide of sadness. . . we will again see his smile. Remaining to forever cherish Justins memory are his mother and father, Darlene and Allen; his sister Angela; grandparents, Robert and Diane Murphy, all of Winnipeg; grandmothers, Edith Augustson of Orillia, Ont. and Joyce Pritchard of Vancouver, B.C.; uncles, Tom (Gail) Allen (Sandra) and Bob (Marni) Murphy of Vernon, Oyama and Port Colquitlam, B.C. respectively; Richard, Barry and Wayne (Patti) of Orillia; aunts, Wende (Dave) of Orillia, Marilyn (Ed) and Debbie (Alvin) of Vancouver, as well as numerous friends. Viewing will be held this evening, Sunday, December 12 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., in the Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. A Catholic Celebration of the Word will be held on Monday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the 17 Wing Community Chapel, 2235 Silver Ave. at Whytewold Road with Reverend Father P.A. Monpas presiding. Pallbearers will be Messrs: Allen, Tom and Robert Murphy, Derrick Illchuck, Bavish Mystry and Jim Costianis. We the family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to all of the friends who, over the past few days, have epitomized the meaning of the word "friend." In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, Inc., 4 - 1000 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0N3. Well, my friend, it has been 15 years and things never were the same without you. You are missed dearly. From the time we met on the #76 through my final days in Winnipeg, you were always my closest friend. If that better place has ski hills, don't get caught half trashed hiking out of bounds, or try to play tennis at 2 in the morning in the rain. Neither ever work out well. I miss you - Posted by: Daryl (Friend) on: Jan 02, 2015
