Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ELIZABETH MARKS On Tuesday, December 7, 1999 at her home, Mary Elizabeth Marks (Thompson) passed away suddenly at the age of 76 years. Born on July 27, 1923 to Louis Irvine and Helena Sarah Thompson. Mary was raised on the family farm west of Sintaluta, Sask. Along with her two brothers she rode her pony to a one room school house called Fair Play School and later to Sintulata. She attended business college in Regina and moved to Winnipeg in 1949. Mary found many lifelong friends as she worked at CPR Telegraphs, A.E. Ames and Company, The Post Office and finally for Grenville Signs where she found her second family with the Cadieux. Mary was predeceased by her parents and most recently her older brother Charles Thompson. She leaves behind her only and beloved daughter Carol Marks George (Vancouver), her son-in-law Chris Dafoe and her very loved granddaughter Madeleine Alice Rose Dafoe, her younger brother Edwin Miller Thompson (Indian Head), her nieces and nephews, David (Regina), Gordon (Regina), Connie (Indian Head), Laverne (Vancouver), Grace (Toronto), Sheryl (Toronto) and her sister-in-law Ruby (Indian Head). Mary will be missed by her many friends throughout Winnipeg and at the Adamar Seniors Club. She never wanted to leave this wonderful group of friends regardless of her daughters convincing arguments to move to Vancouver. Her daughter finally understood and stopped asking. A simple tea will be held in Marys honour at The Adamar from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14. Following cremation, interment will take place next summer at Indian Head, Saskatchewan.
