Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKARL R. HABERMANN Peacefully, on Saturday, December 11, 1999 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, Karl Haberman, aged 99 years. Dad and Papa, as known to his family and grandchildren, will be sadly missed. Karl was born in Germany in 1900 and came to Canada in 1923. He worked on various farms in Saskatchewan until 1928 when he went homesteading in Peace River, Alberta until 1939. He then moved back to Watrous, Sask. and married Eugenia Dreger and then moved to Selkirk, Man. in 1941 where he farmed and raised his family. Karl lived on his home place up until four months ago when he entered Red River Place Nursing Home. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters, Eleanora and husband Glen Fey of Selkirk and their children, Jerry (Cindi), Janet (Rick) Buffie, Tan (Sherryl) and Gregory (Bev) and Elizabeth and husband Mike Duclos of Pinawa, Man. and sons, Fred and wife Diane of Selkirk and their children, Darren and Derek (Marsha) and Walter and his wife Ruth of Brandon, Man. and their children, Jeffery, Craig (Kristine) and Jennifer; nine great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Carrie Gerhardt of Kipling, Sask.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Jennie in 1995; a grandson Wayne Fey; a granddaughter Cherilyn Duclos; five brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Interment will follow in the Selkirk Lutheran Cemetery. His grandsons, Jerry, Ian and Greg Fey and Jeffery, Craig, Darren and Derek Habermann will act as his pallbearers. His honorary pallbearers will be his two granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren. As tokens of sympathy, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Karl may be made to the Hearthstone Community Grp. Inc., Box 321, Selkirk, Man. R1A 2B2 or a charity of ones choice. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and to the staff of the Red River Place and the Selkirk and District General Hospital for their care and compassion shown to our father these past months.
