SLINGSBY (nee FARLEY) November 21, 1928 - December 13, 1999 Kathleen passed away peacefully at home in the early morning of Monday, December 13, 1999 with her family by her side. Kathleen will be greatly missed by Les, her husband of 49 years; children, Linda (Doug) Grayston, Cindy (Lloyd Cardwell) Garofalo, Charlene Behrendt; grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Donna and Mark; and great-grandchildren Lucas and Erik. She was predeceased by her mother, father and sister Edna. Kathleen is also survived by sisters, Thelma (Alan) and Mame; brothers, Jack (Ermina) and Gordon (Pat). Family was always Kathies most important love. She supported Les in his political career and spent many years supporting the local New Democratic Party. Kathie shared her remarkable talent for knitting with all the special people in her life. She was always willing to help others and over many years volunteered with Brownies, Guides, N.D.P. Ladies, Sparling Mothers Morning Out and helping friends. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16 at Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Ave. W., with Rev. Harold Ritchie officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to all the staff of Manitoba Home Care and the Health Action Centre, who enabled Kathie to remain at home as she desired these past seven years.
