FREDERICK WILLIAM LAW Frederick William Law, beloved husband of Doris, passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital Tuesday, December 14, 1999. Fred was born in Belfast and came to Canada as an infant. His family settled in the North End of the City. He attended Luxton, Machray and St.Johns High School. He worked for the Royal Bank for several years until enlisting in the R.C.A.F where he served as an instructor at several stations. After returning from Europe, he spent the balance of his working life with Western Savings and Loan Association and Investors Syndicate, retiring in 1977. He is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Diane Tucker, son Brian and wife Patricia, granddaughters Monica Blackman (Andrew) and Robyn Law and grandson Stuart Tucker (Rachelle), great-grandchildren Janelle and Tyler Blackman and Brenna and Braydon Tucker. He is also survived by his sisters Rita Dodds and Ethel Bone, sister-in-law Isabelle Law, and several nieces and nephews in Winnipeg and BC. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Gordon and Wilson and sister Amy Smith. Fred was involved in several community affairs, serving as Honorary Treasurer of the original Western Canada Lotteries Foundation and Member of the Manitoba Lotteries Commission. In sports, Fred served as President of the Grain Exchange Curling Club and the Manitoba Curling Association and was a life member of both. At Freds request, no memorial service will be held. Cremation has taken place and interment will be a private family affair. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
