ROSE ZELENITSKY (OBACH)
Born: Nov 01, 1905
Date of Passing: Dec 15, 1999
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE ZELENITSKY (nee OBACH) Peacefully, with her family at her side, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother entered into eternal peace at the age of 94, on December 15, 1999 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, MB. Rose was born at Malonton, MB on November 1, 1905. She was married on April 28, 1925 to William Klym Zelenitsky of Winnipeg Beach, where she resided until her passing. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Magda Obach; an infant son Victor; her husband William; her daughter Agnes; two sisters, Julia and Mary; and two brothers, Walter and Frank. Leaving to mourn her passing are her sons, Allan (Elsie), Leonard (Linda), Myles (Cheryl) Zelenitsky; daughters Frances (Eddy) Bochurka, and Alice (Jack) Nichol; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews, and all of the people whose lives this remarkable woman touched with her wisdom and her love. Rose and William will be remembered as pioneers in Winnipeg Beach. She was an avid gardener, gifted with the ability to grow and nurture any kind of plant, be it food or flower. She was a wonderful cook and baker. We all have special memories of her chicken soup, cookies, sugared butter tarts, scones and dill pickles. As well, Mothers generosity was boundless - she shared the harvest of her garden and her hands with all her children. No one ever left her house hungry or empty-handed. Her home and her heart was always open to her family and friends. Mother especially loved children and was very well known to everyone as Granny. Mother had great faith in her Lord and it was this faith that sustained her throughout the challenges in her life. She instilled this faith in all of her children. We will all remember Mom telling us to pray hard and that "This too shall pass" when we were faced with trials or tribulations. She was a rock in all our lives. Prayers will be held Friday, December 17, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach, MB with Fr. Art Seaman officiating. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church with Fr. Jose Cabral officiating. Interment in the Lundi Cemetery, Winnipeg Beach. Pallbearers will be grandchildren Richard Zelenitsky, Barry Bochurka, Jackson Nichol, Amanda Zelenitsky, Eugene Zelenitsky and Kevin Bochurka. The family of Rose Zelenitsky wish to express their profound gratitude to Dr. R.C. Patel for the care which he so lovingly bestowed on our mother. We thank you for the time and effort you took with our mother. We also wish to thank all of the nurses and support staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital for the loving care our mother received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Association, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
