WALTER HURRIE It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden death of Walter Hurrie, who passed away December 13, 1999 at the Health Sciences Centre, with his family by his side. Walter will be sadly missed by many friends and relatives and by his two surviving sisters, Mary Dwornick and Jean (Bill) Penny; brother-in-law Nick Yussack; nieces, Linda (Jim) Boyd of Surrey, B.C. and Janie (John Douglas) nephew Don Halechko and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Walter was predeceased by three sisters, Victoria, Francis and Jessie and by four brothers, Frank, Bill, Henry and Mike. Walter was born October 13, 1916 in Meleb, Manitoba. Walter was a devoted, loving, caring person who put the needs of others before his own. He touched the lives and hearts of many. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and teaching many how to dance. Besides his family, Walters passions were reading, going for long walks, travelling in his early years and sitting down and having a nice friendly argument (all in fun) with family members. At Walters request, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service on Saturday, December 18 at 11:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. The family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation and thanks to Health Sciences Centre nurses at Emergency Resuscitation Unit for the kind and generous support. These nurses made our brief grieving stay very warm and touching. The family would also like to thank Dr. Rabson for Walters care over these many years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walters memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, phone 586-8044.
