ARTHUR RAUHAUS On Tuesday, December 14, 1999, Arthur Rauhaus died at his home at the age of 95 years. He is survived by his sons, Arthur, Norman and Robert; his daughter Sara Bonnell; his son-in-law John Bonnell; his daughters-in-law, Marilyn, Claire and Margaret; his grandchildren, Lissa Bonnell Davies, Lee Bonnell, Ryan Bonnell, Wade, Jason, Marnie Friesen, Matthew, Drew and Justin; his grandsons-in-law, Daryl Bonnell Davies and Jason Friesen; his granddaughter-in-law Sandra and his great-grandchildren, Devon and Kristjaan Bonnell Davies and Cody and Riley Friesen. His descendants are spread out from Toronto to Vancouver which pleased him greatly, as he adored his adopted country Canada. Born in Wuppertal - Barmon, Germany, in 1904, Arthur came to Canada in 1925. Here he met his beloved wife, Helen Frank, who predeceased him after 62 years of marriage. Arthur was a "Jack of all trades", working in positions that varied from farm labourer, to sales, to accountant. A man of strong opinions, Arthur nevertheless charmed those about him. He never stopped talking about Canada and how wonderful this country is. He led an active life after retirement, as a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church and the Seniors choir. An avid walker, he made a daily pilgrimage to Assiniboine Park for his "Constitutional". Independent to the end, Arthur leaves his life as a memorial: a life of usefulness and dedication to his family, his employers and his country. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 600 Cambridge St. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
