BRIAN LESLIE SEALE With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Brian, after a courageous battle with cancer on December 16, 1999 at the age of 54. Left to cherish his memory and miss him dearly is his wife Diane, daughters, Brenda and Donna; son-in-law Trevor (Winzoski), numerous relatives, fellow police officers and co-workers at Winnipeg Enterprises who were touched by him over the years. Brian was predeceased by his father Leslie. Brian lived most of his life in East Kildonan and North Kildonan. He enlisted with the North Kildonan Police Department on July 26, 1967, and then as a result of amalgamations worked in East Kildonan and then Transcona. Subsequently, he worked out of the Public Safety Building for 12 years. Working in the CPIC division of the force from 1983 - 1990, Brian was instrumental in bringing in the communication system utilized by the police today. After 32 years of dedicated service as a police officer, with deep sadness Brian retired on August 28, 1999 holding the rank of Staff Sergeant. Brian began and ended his career doing a job that he loved so very much. Never one to slow down, in addition to fulfilling his duties as a police officer, in the past few years Brian also worked with Winnipeg Enterprises as Building Services coordinator, working alongside police, medical and event staff. Brian will be remembered for his honesty and integrity, generosity and sincerity and his ability to see a job done thoroughly and completed in its entirety. No one person could hold him to a higher standard than his own. He will also be remembered for sheer politeness, always addressing people with "maam" or "sir". Last but not least, no one will forget the shine forever on his shoes. Brians passion for life was his family. His soul mate for 31 years was Diane, who he married on October 26, 1968. He took great pride in his daughters accomplishments; Donna for becoming a lawyer and Brenda for her perseverance. Their early years found him coaching baseball in the squirts and pee-wee divisions at Valley Gardens Community Centre, from 1979 - 1987. His girls were his greatest joy. Brian also had formed a strong bond with his son-in-law, who became like the son he never had. Viewing will be held on Monday, December 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. also in the chapel.
