Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY GERTRUDE DELANCEY (nee ROSS) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Gertrude DeLancey, aged 85 years old, on Thursday, December 16, 1999, peacefully, at the Selkirk General Hospital. Mary and Vernon were married 58 years and have three children, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mary was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. She taught school after graduating from Acadia University. Mary was a gentle soul who thought of others before herself. She loved animals and music. She played the piano at various senior homes for many years. Cremation has taken place. A short service and tea will be held on Monday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Selkirk United Church with Rev. barb janes officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Selkirk General Hospital for the excellent care, neighbours and friends for their loving ways. The Selkirk Home Care Society has been wonderful during Moms illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in memory of Mary, to Selkirk United Church or General Hospital.

Mrs. Delancey was a consummate host. Her Sunday dinners were a surprise but a perfect blend of flavours. The cabbage and beef was exceptional! As were the others. Mrs Delancey, you may not walk among us but you will never be forgotten for your caring of us and Dinty, the French. Every day he showed he loved you. And show he should. Your kindness did not go unnoticed by Dinty or myself. Katso the cat also relied in you for sustenance and was never hungry disappointed. God bless your kind heart. You asked for so little.
