ALICE JENNETTE FLORENCE STEWART (nee Lindgren) On Friday, December 17, 1999, Alice Jennette Florence Stewart, born July 31, 1910, quietly passed away after an extended stay at the Health Sciences Center. Alice has gone to be with her beloved husband Russell, who passed away 28 years ago. Alice was very involved with her churches, St. Pauls United in Petrolia, ON, and Westworth United in Winnipeg. She was the organist and choir director at St. Pauls and substituted at Westworth amongst other churches in the city. She taught music to many in Weldon and Shellbrook Sask. Petrolia and Winnipeg. Alice loved gardening and flowers. Her marigolds will be thoughtfully planted with love each spring. Predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Nordahl and Palmer, and husband Russell. Deeply missed but lovingly appreciated and remembered by her adoring sister Esther Jackson (101 years), son James (Ruth), son Denys and friend Barbara, grandchildren Lori (Randy), Lynn (Glen), Suzanne, Dana (Shawn), Krista, nephew Andy (Elsie), all of her great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and her best neighbor and dear friend Edna. She has not gone far from our lives as the lessons of love, family and faith she modelled in her own life will live on through each of us in ours. We will especially remember her warmth and soft hands, her full cookie tin on the fridge, her piano playing, her delighted smile and her wave from her front door as she watched us go. You are extra-ordinary and a gift to us all. Thank you for being in our lives, thank you for your loving and may our love lift you to a place that is safe, where you and your Russell are peaceful and together. Thanks to Dr. Galbraith and to the nurses and staff (especially sisters Bea & Tina) on GD5 and to Connie. Friends may call for visitation between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. There will be a memorial service, for all that know and cherish Alice, in Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue at Wilton Street, on Tuesday, December 21 at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev.
