JESSIE MARGARET HAINSTOCK (nee REID) February 13, 1907 - December 13, 1999 Jess was born in Winnipeg in February of 1907. She married James Arthur Hainstock on October 1, 1942 at All Saints Church in Winnipeg, and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage before Jimmys death on October 5, 1976. Jess had a true soul mate in Jimmy and together they were enthusiastic bowlers and sportsfans; she often shard her fond memories of their trips to major and minor league baseball games. Jess worked at the downtown Eatons department store for many years until her retirement. Jess was a charming lady who practiced her sharp wit and careful observatory eye well into her nineties and until the time of her passing. She loved solving crossword puzzles and particularly enjoyed those published in the daily Free Press and NY times. Her other hobbies included bowling, knitting, all sorts of crafts and long walks. She is best described as a person of formidable intelligence, full of life, and a treasure of a friend. She was a great deal of fun to be around. She is survived by her sister Helen (Saanich, BC) as well as nieces and nephews. Jess was predeceased last year by Mrs. Judy Esau, her dear friend of 55 years. She will be greatly missed by Pearl and Art Threadkill, George Esau, Kim Esau, Kelly and Ian Dixon and David Esau, who have always considered Jess part of the family. "Aunt Jess" will be especially missed and remembered well in this holiday season. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
