Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS (NICK) WARWICK Peacefully, on Friday, December 17, 1999, at the Gimli Betel Home, Nick Warwick, aged 88 years, formerly of Winnipeg Beach, Man., beloved husband of the late Eva. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Joanne of Winnipeg Beach and Suzanne (Chris) of Ottawa. Brothers Norman (Pearl) of Edmonton, Mike of Kelowna, one sister Mary (Frank) of Ottawa and sister-in-law Katharina of Victoria. Nick was born on May 22, 1911 in Selkirk, Man. In his youth, he worked hard in Northern Ontario mines, along with various other jobs to provide for his Mother and siblings. During the Second World War, Nick served overseas with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. He spent his adult life in Winnipeg Beach with Eva, raising their daughters. He made many friends during his years at Selkirk Lumber as well as the summers working for the Parks Branch. Nick was an avid curler and gardener and he loved to travel. He was a proud member of the Winnipeg Beach Legion Branch #61. Nick will be remembered for his friendliness and for the ability to strike up a conversation. He was predeceased by his wife Eva, in 1973 and one infant daughter Maryanne in 1953, along with brothers Jerry in 1956 and John in 1996. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Winnipeg Beach United Church, with Rev. Lynn Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at the Winnipeg Beach Community Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Gimli Betel Home for the wonderful care given to Dad during his years with them. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 2H8, or to the charity of ones choice.
