THELMA JOHNSON (nee SCHMIDT) On December 18, 1999 with her family at her side, Thelma, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre, after a lengthy illness. Thelma is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rex; her daughters Barbara Fast (Hank) and Jennifer Crutch (Bob Lidstone) her granddaughters, Kimberley, Alison and Jaclyn; and her brother Herb Schmidt. Thelma was born in Brunkild, Manitoba October 3, 1917 and lived most of her married life in Winnipeg. All who knew her will remember a quiet, gentle woman devoted to her family. She will be missed. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, in Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road, with the Rev.
