(Retired) 1915 - 1999 The family sadly announces Isabels passing on Friday, December 17, 1999 at the Riverview Health Centre. Born in Meota, SK, Isabel is survived by her brother Joseph Herbert MacDonald of North Battleford, her sister Sophia Florence Reeves (Gordon) of Winnipeg and her nephews, Robert Gordon Reeves (Shari) of Penticton and James Donald Reeves (Susan) of Winnipeg. A graduate nurse of the Childrens Hospital of Winnipeg in 1939, Isabel was commissioned in the Royal Canadian Army in 1945 where she served in the Medical Corps for 22 years. Her theatres of service were Canada, Korea and Continental Europe and during her career she was awarded the Canadian Voluntary Service Medal, the War Medal (1939-45), the United Nations Service Medal (Korea), the Canadian Forces Decoration and the Associate Red Cross. Following her honourable release from the Armed Forces in August, 1967, Isabel continued her nursing career at the Eastview Lodge in Neepawa and later at the Winnipeg Municipal Hospitals. At Isabels request, no service to mark her passing will be held. Donations in her honour to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family who also wish to express their thanks to the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their compassion to and care of Isabel.
