JOYCE STEWART Joyce Stewart was born December 24, 1918 in Carivale, Sask., second daughter of Dick and Minnie Anderson. She was predeceased by her husband John Stewart and her oldest son Bryan (Ken) Stewart. Joyce moved to Miami, Man. at the age of eight, with her parents and sister Dulcie. She finished her schooling in Miami and then married John Stewart of the Dunston district. They farmed in the municipality of Thompson where their family of six sons and one daughter were born. In 1959 they moved to Carman and Joyce worked at Carman Florists for 22 years. After retiring, she took up bowling, crocheting and reading. She loved cooking for her family making each one their favourite dish, or keeping something in the cupboard for them. Joyce was devoted to her family and each one held a special place in her heart. She took great pride in their accomplishments. Joyce enjoyed her many walks downtown for mail and coffee with her dear friend Laura. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Glenda (Jim) Bayliss and five sons, Dale (Marilyn), Colin (Joyce), Donald (Gloria), Douglas (Nola), and Graham (Marg) 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; her sister Dulcie Henderson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kay McKenzie, Rita and Ed Finlyson, Duncan and Wilma Stewart; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Laura Knaggs. Funeral service will be held from the Miami Community Centre in Miami, Man. on Tuesday, December 28 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the Dunston Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man. R3C 9Z9, or to a charity of ones choice. Doyles of Carman in care of arrangements.
