MICHAEL YARMILL It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Mike Yarmill at the Selkirk & District General Hospital, on December 21, 1999 at the age of 75 years. Mike will be sadly missed by his brothers, Nick (Wilma) of Barrie, ON and Peter (Elsie) of Selkirk, sisters, Mary Uskiw and Olga Banish of Selkirk and Sophie Roth of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Irene Henderson and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Tennie and Samuel; brothers, Harry and John (Pauline), and brothers-in-law John Paluck, Hank Banish, Frank Roth and John Uskiw. Mike grew up on the family farm in Tyndall and attended the Greenwich School. Over the years he pursued various occupations until settling in at the Manitoba Rolling Mills where he worked for 26 years until retirement. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Union and of the Holy Eucharist Church in Selkirk. Mike loved animals and fishing. He also enjoyed playing snooker, bowling, trips to Las Vegas with his friends and time spent with the Harmonicats. Prayers will be said tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Selkirk with Fr. Harry Oliynek officiating. Interment will follow in the Glen Eden Cemetery, Rivercrest. His pallbearers will be Glen Banish, Peter Bilinsky, Gerry Lipkewicz, Darren Paluck, Peter Roth and Brian Yarmill. Mikes family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff of the Red River Place and the doctors and staff of the Selkirk General Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in his memory sent to the Diabetes Assoc., 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 0S6 or the Selkirk Palliative Care, Box 5000, Selkirk, R1A 2M2.
