Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCONCETTA SCALETTA (nee TASCONA) Peacefully on December 24, 1999, Connie passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Connie was born in St. Boniface on March 25, 1908. Mom is survived by four sons, Ignatius (Shirley), Sebastian (Marie), Augie (Mary Jeanne) and Joe (Pat) nine granddaughters; four grandsons, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Joe, Frank, Tony and Sam; her sister and Bingo partner Irene, as well as many nieces and nephews. Coming from a large family, Mom loved to have family and friends over for great suppers and wonderful home-made breads and pasta. During the years of 1948 to 1960, she met the new immigrants from Italy and helped many find jobs and homes. Mom was a lifetime member of the Catholic Womens League of Canada and received a Papal Blessing in recognition of all her good works. Connie was a world traveler and spoke French, Italian and English fluently. Her greatest joy was with her family who she loved very much. Mom was predeceased by her husband Salvatore, her baby daughter, her parents Nunziata and Sebastian, three sisters and four brothers. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, December 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Father Samuel Argenziano on Wednesday, December 29 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nine granddaughters, Lynn Scaletta, Mary Meisner, Teresa Montanti, Laura Dupont, Julie Scaletta, Frances Gair, Coleen Berg, Kathleen Yaworski and Karen Scaletta. The family wishes to thank Connies three special caregivers, Karen, Julie and Kathleen. Thank you also to the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. No flowers please.
