Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE VIOLET LETANDRE (nee HOURIE) November 14, 1917 - December 23, 1999 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother on Thursday, December 23, 1999 at her residence in Fairford, MB. Elsie was born and raised at Fairford, MB where she met and married Alexander T. Letandre on May 4, 1933, and together they raised their large family. She also raised some of her grandchildren who were very special to her; granddaughters, Myrna, Lavina and Ashley and grandsons, Sidney John and Julian. Elsie worked as a janitor at Pinaymootang School until her retirement. She took pride in whatever type of work she did. She especially enjoyed planting a vegetable garden and planting flowers. Elsie also enjoyed knitting socks and mitts for her grandchildren. Elsie was a loving and caring woman who shared with you whatever she had. She possessed a heart of gold and a smile that radiated with love and warmth. Elsie leaves to mourn four daughters, Myrtle (Ed) Anderson, Joyce (John) Martin, Dora (Edward) Sumner, Beverly (Riley) Anderson and two sons, Sidney and Gerald; 38 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Gladys Moar and Isabella Anderson; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, parents, two sisters, three grandsons, two granddaughters, two great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, also daughters, Mary Jane in infancy, Ethel, Ruth, Marilyn and one son Leonard. A wake service will be held on Monday, December 27 at the Fairford House of Prayer, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairford House of Prayer with Pastor Wilfred Bruce officiating. Interment to follow at St. Helens Cemetery, Fairford. Mom, we saw that you were lonely But you tried not to show it You were with us a long time And suddenly you were gone We will cry and wed will miss you We will take comfort in knowing That you will suffer no more And that you will never be lonely again We know that you are safe and happy In the Lords House Rest in Peace, Dear Mother, Until we meet again Come a glad and glorious day!
