JAMES DANIEL McNEILL On Saturday, December 25, 1999, at the Portage District General Hospital, with the family by his side, James Daniel McNeill, a resident of the Lions Prairie Manor and formerly of Poplar Point, widower of the late Verna McNeill, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years. Memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, on Tuesday, December 28 at 1:30 p.m. A private family interment will take place prior to the service. Predeceased by his parents; his wife Verna; two brothers, Jack and Bill; two sisters, Jessie and Mary; he leaves to mourn his passing his three daughters, Carol and Craig Stirrat of Calgary, AB, Wendy and Ernie Gilroy of Winnipeg, Cathy Cunnington of Poplar Point; grandchildren, Darrell Byrka, Jeff Byrka and fiancee Tammy Brown all of Calgary, Pam Gilroy and fiance Cam Rajotte, Cindy and Owen Price all of Winnipeg, Drew Cunnington of Portage, Kristie Cunnington of Poplar Point; great-grandchildren, Shane Dolin and Courtney Flockemann. Also surviving are brother Charlie McNeill of Calgary; sisters, Margaret Tully and Ethel Walsh of Marquette, Leila Dunkin of Peachland, BC, Bessie and Bill Rausch of Calgary; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation, 24-9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3V4 or the Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0M2 or charity of ones choice.
