He was a life long member of the New Democratic Party, and was an active volunteer. He was employed mostly recently as a councillor for the R.M. of St. Andrews, a job he loved dearly. He worked for MB Housing for 21 years and the MB Rolling Mills for 11 years. Douglas was a man of integrity and compassion. He lived everyday to the fullest until his illness in 1996. Curling, baseball and tipping a few with close friends were Dougs favourite things. The family wishes to thank Dr. Demsas and the nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for the wonderful care Douglas received.
