GEORGE LARCHE It is with deep sorrow the family would like to announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, George Larche, on Wednesday, December 22, 1999. George was predeceased by his beloved Loretta; his parents, Alfred and Louisa; and two brothers, Armand and Raymond. He is survived by his daughter Pat Jackson (Barry) sons, Ronald (Colleen) and Gary; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and also brother Eugene (Ethel) in California. George was born August 20, 1916 and lived all his life in Transcona. He married Loretta Ringach on March 2, 1940. Dad worked for the CNR all his life, except for the time spent in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1942 - 1945. After the war, Dad returned to the CNR and worked until his retirement in 1976. As a family, we all enjoyed our summers at the cottage at Grand Beach, canoeing and fishing. Dad built his own canoes and paddled them down the Winnipeg River from Kenora to Grand Beach. Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going out with his children and grandchildren. He was an excellent swimmer and spent many hours in the Transcona Pool, but most of all enjoyed telling his tall tales. Dad, from all of us, Tight Lines and Straight Shooting. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 29 at 3:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with Chaplain Paul Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
