AL WACKMAN Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Friday, December 24, 1999 at the Grace General Hospital, Al passed away at the age of 85 years, beloved husband for 60 years, of Evelyn of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Al was born, raised and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. In his younger years he was a member of the Winnipeg Canoe Club. Al was employed with the Canadian National Railways in various positions. Al was an active photographer, particularly specializing in weddings. Later in life he and Evelyn built a cottage at Clearwater Bay, Lake of the Woods and after retirement, they divided their time between the Lake, Arizona and Winnipeg. Besides his loving wife Evelyn, now in Charleswood; remaining to forever cherish Als memory are his sons, Harold (based in Nairobi, Kenya with the World Bank), Bill (with CN in Vancouver, B.C.) and two grandchildren, Laura and Thomas. In compliance with Als wishes a private family funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Als memory to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 0V9.
