GARNET MAXWELL JONES Peacefully on December 27th, 1999, in his sleep, at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, Garnet M. Jones, aged 78 years, of Lockport, MB. He was predeceased by his wife Martha in 1997; sister Florence and brothers, Jack and Roland. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son David (Louise) of St. Andrews; grandchildren, David Johnson of Selkirk, David and Amanda Jones of St. Andrews; sister-in-law Laurel Jones; niece Heather and nephews, Stuart and Blair of Delta, B.C. Dad was born on May 8th, 1921. He worked for C.P. Rail from 1941 until retirement in 1981. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with viewing one half hour prior to services. Interment to follow in the St. Clements Cemetery. His pallbearers will be Andrew Shymkiw, Archie Stamm, Roger Gascoigne, Richard Gascoigne, Fred Weidmark and Morris Gagnon. Special thanks to Dr. Fuchs and the nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital; Burl McEwen of the Cardiology Department at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion, care and kindness.
