MARIA VALENTINA PEREIRA ALVES Peacefully on Monday, December 27, 1999, Maria Valentina Pereira Alves, aged 94, passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital with her family at her side. Maria was predeceased by her husband Manuel, brother Teofilo, sister Regina, daughter Maria Cristo and son-in-law Joao Cristo. She is survived by her daughter Maria Da Silva (Joao) her son Jose Pereira (Conceicao) of St. Miguel, Acores; brother-in-law Albino Alves; sister-in-law Eulalia Pereira, also of Acores; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Always caring for others before herself. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maria loved to read, to do search puzzles and watch videos of her beloved Sao Miguel Acores. The family wishes to thank the nurses of St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care, especially on E4, Michael and Donna for their support in our time of need and their loving care of Maria. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin, at 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be said on Thursday, December 30 at 12:00 p.m., also at the church. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery with reception at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
