MARY WAWRYKOW (nee HRYNSHYN) Peacefully, in the company of her family, Mary Wawrykow, a lifelong resident of Gimli, passed away on December 28, 1999 at the Red River Place in Selkirk. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Dmytro (Dan) in 1984; parents Daniel and Pauline; brothers, Michael Herneshen and Mikola Hrynyszyn and a sister Anna Woroncuk. She leaves surviving her sons, Waldi (Joyce) and Micheal (Colleen) her daughters, Betty Lawrence (Robert), Margaret, and Marion Korolyk (Gerald) and her grandchildren, Theresa, Stefan, Natasha, Katarina and David (Jill). Mary was born and raised in Dnister, MB where she married Dan in 1939. She resided in Gimli for over 57 years in the house which Dan had built. She was very proud of her family, her hometown and the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic church of which she and Dan were founding members. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, December 31 at 9:45 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Gimli with Fr. E. Rudachok officiating. Interment in the Dnister Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the MB Alzheimer Society, Unit 10 - 210 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3C 4G2 or the Dnister Church Restoration, Box 1103, Gimli, R0C 1B0. Rest in Peace, Mom Vichnaya Pamyat Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
