FRANK KNIGHT Passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre on December 30, 1999 after a lengthy battle with Diabetes. Frank was predeceased by his wife Phyllis in 1980. He is survived by his close friend and companion Miriam Smith, brothers Peter of Winnipeg, Ted of Regina and Ken of Calgary, as well as many nieces and nephews. Frank was born in 1922 in London, England, coming to Canada with his parents at a young age and settling in Winnipeg. During the depression they moved north of Selkirk for a few years. It was here that Buster became a great horseman, fisherman and hunter. While still a young man he went to Fort William and found work at the Canadian Car and Foundry, who would be making fighter aircraft. During his time there he was a member of the champion ball team and hockey team. He then with his two close friends enlisted in the Canadian Army where he served as a Sergeant in the Canadian Infantry Corps. Back in civilian life he became a longtime member of The Canadian Legion Branch No.1. He attended as one of the members at various legion conventions across Canada. During this time he had ended up bring the president of Legion No. 1. Frank loved the sales world and worked many years for Mid-Way Chrysler. He spent many years going to Hawaii, Southern California and Mexico. He loved his summer golf games with his friend Gibly, who did a lot for him in the last few months. He would say no flowers, but think of your favourite charity or project for the living. Funeral service will be held at 1:00p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Brookside Field of Honor.
