GLEN ARNOLD ROLLER Peacefully, on Friday, December 31, 1999 at the Grace General Hospital, Glen Arnold Roller, husband of Audrey, passed away at the age of 77 years. Besides his loving wife Audrey of 44 years of marriage, remaining to forever cherish Glens memory are his daughters, Glenda (Beth) and Bill Benson of The Pas, Barbara and David Roh of Morinville, Alta., Sheri-Lynn and Wayne Darechuk of Thunder Bay, Ont. and son Dale Roller of Winnipeg; 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Joel, Lesley, Julie, Jacqueline, Heather, April, Shawna, Shawn and Katherine; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Michael and Robert; as well as one brother Wilson (Leola) Roller of Strathmore, Alta. Glen was born to Olive and Walter Roller on July 3, 1922 in Neelin, Manitoba. He was raised and schooled in the Neelin District and helped work the family farm. He entered into the RCAF and then worked with Manitoba Hydro. In 1960, Glen moved to Winnipeg where he gained employment at the Deer Lodge Hospital as a Certified Orderly for 28 years. Upon retirement, he and Audrey traveled, visiting children and made other dreams come true by travelling to Alaska, the Atlantic Provinces, The Grand Old Opry, Las Vegas and most precious of all, to Roller Lake (named after his brothers for service in the Second World War), accompanied by his daughter Sheri and husband Wayne. Glen enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Thompson and hunting trips in the Killarney area where visiting family and friends was just as enjoyable as the hunting. A family service will be held on Tuesday, January 4 in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard, Winnipeg. A gathering will be held following Glenns service at Silver Heights Restaurant. Friends are cordially invited to attend. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Killarney, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, as an expression if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or The Childrens Wish Foundation (Manitoba Chapter), 350 St. Marys Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3Z7, or a charity of ones choice would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Glens family would like to extend many thanks to the nurses and support staff at 4 South and 4 West for all the compassionate care given. During the long months hospitalized at Grace General, Glen and Audrey met and made a variety of special friends and drew a source of support and strength from them. God Bless you all. Glens family has entrusted his arrangements to the care of: WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897-4665
