Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORA ANN FRYZA (nee Zahranchek) 1920 - 1999 On Thursday, December 30, 1999, after a courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease, Flora Ann Fryza, dearly beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age 79. Flora will be lovingly remembered by her husband Tom; son Tom; daughter-in-law Maureen; grandchildren, Lyle, Colin, Stefanie and Jacquelene, also survived by special sister Nellie (Andy) Davies; brother George; sister-in-law, Sophie Zarenchek; nephews and nieces, sisters and brothers-in-law. Flora was predeceased by her parents John and Ellen Rose Zahranchek, her brother Jack and her beloved sisters, Helen and Pam. Flora was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 23, 1920. She was raised on a farm and educated in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. The family moved to the Monominto area in the summer of 1937. She lived on the farm with her parents until she was married in 1944. She lived the remainder of her life in the Monominto area, building a new home in 1961, which was her pride and joy. She loved nothing better than to tend her flowers in the summer and clean her house in the winter. Flora wasnt a stranger to hard work. She helped Tom to milk cows, seed crops and make hay. After a full day working she would still have the energy left to visit friends and family. Thursdays were a ritual for Flora and her sisters. If you saw one at the shopping center, you saw them all, the sisters four. Floras trademark was her laugh. Wherever she was you could hear her laughter. Flora had an amazing personality too. She always carried an uplifting and joyful smile with her that could lighten up a whole room. Flora always seemed to know how to bring the best out in people. In her later years, when they semi-retired from farming, she still loved to tend her flower gardens. One of her greatest joys in life was her son and her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them, go for walks and just enjoy the outdoors. She also had a great love for animals. She always talked so fondly of the horses when she was young. Many memories of her life with her brothers and sisters have been shard at family gatherings. The cattle drive from Winnipeg on horseback was an especially fond memory that she shared many times. A book could have been written about their many adventures as children. Special thanks go out to the Home Care givers, staff at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne and to moms very special friends, Verna Kruchak, for being so kind and helpful throughout moms illness. Viewing will be held tonight, Monday, January 3, between 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel 1800 Day Street. Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2000, also at the chapel, with Rev. Jane Wetelainen officiating. Interment at Monominto Cemetery. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Floras name to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, or to a charity of ones choice. Loved and cherished by all who knew her. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
