He passed away peacefully December 24, 1999 at his home in Kamloops, B.C. at the age of 81. George was predeceased by his son Tom in 1968 and brother Orla in 1995. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Valborg; son Kim (Barbara) granddaughters, Tracey (Wayde) Simpson, Shauna (Lance) Kissack and Jodi; great-grandchildren, Alexa and Shayne Simpson and Erika Kissack, and numerous relatives and friends both in Canada, Denmark and Sweden. George immigrated with his family from Denmark to Winnipeg in 1951. He was a skilled tool and die maker with various firms, retiring from the C.N.R. Transcona Machine Shop in 1983. He enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride in his stamp and coin collection. He was a member in good standing with the I.O.F. and I.A.M. In 1996 George and Valle moved to Kamloops to be closer with their family. George was a gentle and kind person that touched the hearts of those that knew him. He will be sadly missed by all but can now rest in peace with Tom and Orla. No service by request of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Georges memory.
