Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD STEIDL Peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 1999 at the St.Boniface General Hospital, Gerald Steidl passed away. Jerry was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 11, 1932. He moved to Winnipeg in 1946, where he met the woman of his dreams, Jenny Waryc. They were married for 44 years, less 4 days, when Jenny passed away on August 23, 1999 after a brief illness. Together they raised their three sons, Garth, Gavin and Greg. Jerry was employed by the Federal Government, Department of Customs and Excise for 25 years until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed playing bridge with his life long friend Cal Finch and developed many friendships over the years. Dad will be forever remembered by his three sons, Garth, Gavin and his wife Carla, Greg and his wife Laura. Also left to cherish his memory are his four grandchildren, Kristen, Brett, Jessica and Sarah; his sister-in-law Shirley Lausch and her husband Art, their son Jason and his wife Lisa. There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Friday, January 7, 2000 at 12:30 p.m. A luncheon will follow the service. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care during Dads stay. Many thanks are also extended to the Transplant Care Unit at London University Hospital for their support while Dad was waiting for a heart transplant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., R3B 2H8.
