JOSEPH JOE YELLOWBACK Suddenly, but peacefully, at home in his sleep, Joseph Yellowback, beloved husband of Adele (Snowbird) passed away on Friday, December 31, 1999 at the age of 68 years. Born June 12, 1931 in Gods River, Man., Joseph lived in Gods Lake Narrows for 30 years, working as a carpenter and fishing guide before moving to Winnipeg for health reasons. Predeceased by his parents, Mike and Sarah Yellowback (Kanabee), son Roger and brothers, Elias and Alec. Joseph is survived by Adele (Snowbird) his loving wife of 49 years; sons, Ray, Howard, James (Kathy) Meekis, Robert (Marcella), Donald Roger and Charlie; daughter Diane Kanabee (Charlie), Mary Harper (Malcolm), Joyce Harper (William), Sally Day (Mervin) and Sherry Yellowback; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Jonas Yellowback; sisters, Mary Ross (Johnny) and Hilda Ross (Alexander) sisters-in-law, Sopola and Elsie and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed. Those we love, dont go away, They walk beside us everyday Rest in peace, Dad. A memorial service will be held at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel at 724 Selkirk Ave., on Monday, January 3, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service and burial to follow at the Gods River Catholic Church later in the week. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephs name to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
