Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ALBERT DEPREZ On Thursday, December 30, 1999, Rob with family by his side passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Center at the age of 77 years. Rob was born on April 20, 1922 in Lilyfield, Man. at the outbreak of the Second World War. Rob enlisted with the R.C.A.F. as a diesel mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He was very proud to be a part of the construction of the Alaska highway. On August 5, 1944 Rob returned to Stony Mountain to marry his sweetheart Angele Vandekerckhove in St. Josephs Roman Catholic church. Rob was discharged from the service in 1946 with the rank of Corporal. In 1949 Rob and Angele settled on the family farm where they raised their nine children. Rob loved his family and his farm. His happiest times were spent on that section of land. "Popsy" was a avid outdoorsman and spent many enjoyable years hunting with his sons and friends. Rob was a honorary life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #142 for 50 years. Predeceased by his parents, Camille and Eliza; infant son Donald; brothers George and Harry (Betty) and sister Irma. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Angele their six daughters, their three sons, 23 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Roberta "Skip" Read, Rob (Corinne), Kevin (Vera), great grandchildren Jenny and Riley, Sandra (Richard) Harvey, great grandchildren Cameron and Haley. Donna (Bruce) Honey, Ken and James. Dick (Honey), Jennifer, Jacelyn and Richard. Debbie (Rick) Deprez-Pachel, Sashaum, Kyra (Brett), Eli, Monika. Gordon (Debbie), Jason and Jeffrey. Mark (Cheryl), Curtis, Darrin, Blair and Gerald. Michelle, Denny and Chantelle. Twins, Janine daughter Jessica and Judy (Rob) Wisener, Erika, Ashtyn, brother Maurice (Germaine), sisters, Elsie Marion, Betty Pelletier, Madeline Tuck, sister-in-law, Alene Deprez and many nieces and nephews. Rob will sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Robs grandchildren. Viewing Monday, January 3, 2000 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Mackenzie Funeral Chapel Stonewall. Cremation will follow. A memorial service will be held, January 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the Stony Mountain Recreation Center. Rev. Deacon J. Reznik will officiate. Heartfelt thanks to the Stonewall Hospital Staff and I.C.M. staff at the Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
