ROBERT G. STAATZ September 25, 1930- December 31, 1999 At the Victoria General Hospital, Bob left us as he had lived his life, peacefully. Bob was predeceased by his parents Karl and Mary Staatz and by his beloved son Jeff in 1992. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife " Maggie darlin" of 45 years; his much loved daughter Becky who was always there for him; his son-in-law Peter Ball, his #2 son. Gramps will always be missed by his granddaughters, Brittany and Amy, who were so very special to him and sister-in-law Faith Kling. Also left to mourn his loss are sister Doreen (Gord) Meyer, brother Ron (Merlene) plus aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Bob was born in Winnipeg and had resided here all his life. After graduating from Issac Newton High School in 1947 he entered the Grain Trade with Federal Grain Ltd. for 25 years and then formed Sask. Wheat Pool where he remained until his early retirement in 1988. Bob was an avid sports fan for many years. He was involved in the Chateau Mens Bowling League and then with a mixed league at Le Club Laverendrye. More recently he tried his hand at Billards and did enjoy it. His big passion (next to his family) was golf. This past year was extremely hard on him having to curtail his playing. We know that he and Jeff will be "following the Sun" wherever they are. Bob was the kindest man I ever knew. He gave his all to his family. There wasnt anything he wouldnt do for us if he possibly could. His complete honesty was so indicative of the man he was - " True Blue". We the family deeply appreciated our relatives and many dear friends for being so supportive in our time of need with visits and outings. I will sorely miss my kind and gentle man. He was the best. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday January 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions if so desired, may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, MB. R3E 0V9 or to a charity of ones choice. A private family interment will take place at a later date. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
