THEODORE (FRED) KOSTYNIUK Theodore (Fred) Kostyniuk, long time resident of Broad Valley died unexpectedly Friday, December 31, 1999 in Arborg. Born on February 27, 1916 to one of Broad Valleys original homestead families, Theodore spent his life working on the family farm and in his later years worked at harvest for neighbouring farms. He moved from the homestead to Sunrise Lodge Senior Residence in Arborg seven years ago where he enjoyed many outing and get-togethers with the residents. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Saffrona Kostyniuk; brother Bill and wife Joan Kostyniuk; brother Metro (Mel) Kent; sister-in-law Irene Kent. He is lovingly remembered and will be missed by brother Michael Kent and daughter Beatrice in Halifax; nephews and their wives, Bob and Carol Kostyniuk and Gary and Donna Kostyniuk all of Thunder Bay; sister-in-law Betty Kent and her children and their families, Barbara, Bryan and Shelley Kent and Rebecca; Darlene and Doug McPherson and Mitch and Wesley all of Winnipeg. He is also survived by his cousins, the Tretiak families, Domia and Myrs; Bob and Ruby and children, Christopher, Corinne and Lindsay, Dan and Yvette and children, Doug and Heather and Karen of Arborg, Winnipeg and Montreal who lovingly cared for and watched over him. Also survived by other relatives. A celebration of Theodores life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Broad Valley Hall on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 with Rev. Wesley Barrett officiating. Interment will be in Broad Valley Cemetery followed by a reception for family and friends in the hall. In lieu of flowers, the family would be pleased by have memorial donations made to the charity of your choice.
