Tekla (Teenie) Styrchak (nee Shymkiw) With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Teenie on December 27, 1999 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn her daughter Jennie, son Gary and wife Susan and grandchildren Katherine (and Rob Loiselle), Karen and Stephen. Mother was close to the earth and to the seasons. She loved gardening, canning, cooking and being with family. All who knew her will remember her indomitable spirit and determined nature towards everything she undertook. She will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank the medical and nursing staff of KLINIC, and the staff of Home Care whose assistance enabled her to remain in her home for many years and to continue to do the things that she loved. We wish to express our deep gratitude to the nursing staff of Victoria Hospital for their excellent care of and compassion towards our Mother. Cremation has taken place. Teenie will be laid to rest with her husband Steve who predeceased her in 1952. A graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery on January 6, 2000 at 12:30 p.m., to be followed by a reception at Jennies home.
