EDWARD HENRY GLADISH January 4, 1917 to December 28, 1999 Peacefully at home after a brief illness. Born in Winnipeg, he attended school with the nuns in St. Norbert and then Provencher School when his dad built in St. Boniface. Ed worked for Manitoba Bridge and Engineering for 40 years, except for a tour of England, Scotland, Holland and Belgium, courtesy of the Royal Canadian Army. He married Pauline Strumbicki on May 14, 1947. After he retired he loved to putter in the yard and garden and take long walks around the local golf courses. He is survived by his wife Pauline; one brother Louis (Mary) and sisters, Julie, Vicki, Rosie, Jessie and Nellie; three sons, Rick, Leonard (Sheila), Edward Jr. (Shauna) three grandsons, Michael, Stephen, Eric and numerous nephews. Ed was predeceased by brother Johnnie; sisters, Willa and Jeana; parents, Paul and Mary. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3 at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 541 Marion Street. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, also at St. Andrew Bobola Church with Fr. Jan Spyrka presiding. Service will terminate at church with cremation to follow. Interment of cremated remains will take place on Thursday, January 6 at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens on Hwy. 59 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
