MABEL IRENE MCGILL (nee LOUNSBURY) Suddenly on Wednesday, December 29, 1999, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Man., Mabel Irene McGill (nee Lounsbury) a resident of the Lions Manor, Winnipeg, Man. passed away at the age of 93 years with her family by her side. Mabel was predeceased by her husband George McGill in 1965; parents, Oscar and Myrtle Lounsbury (nee Dobbin), three sisters, Vera and husband Oliver Dash, Mildred and husband Jack Campbell, and Velda Lounsbury; one brother Elmer Lounsbury. She is survived by her son Wayne and wife Pauline McGill; one sister Kay Hurst; two brothers, Orval Lounsbury and Allan and wife Raebelle Lounsbury, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mabel was born December 23, 1906 in Treherne. In 1930 she married George McGill and lived in the Camille District. She worked in the Holland Nursing home, then moved to Portage in the early 1950s where she worked for the commanding officers at Southport until her retirement in 1966 when she moved to Winnipeg, where she resided until now. Mabel was an active member of the United Church and Rebbeka Lodge. Viewing will be held from the Budz Funeral Chapel, Holland, Man., on Monday, January 3, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Alan Armstrong from the Treherne United Church, Treherne, Man. on Tuesday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be nephews, Kelvin Hurst, Keith Hurst, Bruce Lounsbury, Donald Lounsbury, Ronald Lounsbury, and Rick Lounsbury. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Mabels memory to the Lions Manor Building Fund, 320 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 2W6.
