ERNST (ERNIE) WILFRED ROEHL Peacefully, at the U of A Hospital, ICU, Edmonton, Alta., on Tuesday, December 28, 1999. Ernie is survived by mother Eva Emily Roehl of Winnipeg; brother Henry Roehl (Elsie) of Fairford, Man.; daughter Rhonda Roehl (Rick) of Victoria, daughter Donna Neufeld (Erwin) of Winnipeg and son Ron Roehl (Britta) of Edmonton; as well as grandchildren, Philip, Veronica, April and Richie Neufeld. He was predeceased by father Albert Roehl and brother Herbert Roehl. Born in 1931 in Moosehorn, Man., Ernie moved to Faulkner as a young boy when family purchased Faulkner General Store. He completed Grades 11 and 12 in Luther College, Regina, where he excelled in sports. Ernie got his Teachers Certificate at Winnipeg Normal School, where upon he taught for four years before purchasing Steep Rock General Store. He married Helen Nogiec in 1955, they raised three children in Steep Rock before moving to Sherwood Park, Alta. in 1980. Ernie has resided in Edmonton area ever since. Ernies loves were fishing, hunting and sports; he had a deep love for nature and a great ability to communicate with children. He spent a lot of time repairing old bikes to give away to neighbourhood kids. Cremation has taken place. Private memorial service to be held summer of 1999, as per request. Harmony Funeral Services, 10541 - 81 Ave., Edmonton in charge of arrangements.
