Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABRAHAM RUBEN Peacfully on December 28, 1999 at Riverview Health Centre, Abraham passed away at age 91. Avi (as he was fondly known) was predeceased by his wife Sarah. He was born to Leah and Noiach in Poltava, Ukraine on the 6 January, 1908. His early years were spent in London and Liverpool, England. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1953 and shortly after he joined the labor movement and also became active on the political scene. Avi is survived by his son Maurice (and Mary) his six grandchildren, Martin (and Kim), Nadine (and Billy), Ian and Orly, Howard, Diane (and Ron), and Annette (and Scott). He is also remembered by 15 great- grandchildren, Sean, Ruben, Jennifer, Michelle, and Bobby Semenchuk; Lauren, Laurie, and Samual Ruben; Inbar, Hadar, Adi Ruben; Steven and Carrie Minion; and Mathew, Matty, and Mikayla Greene. He will also be sadly missed by his friend and companion of ten years, Anna and her sons, Victor (and Judith) Natasha and Lidia and Harvey and Laurel and Nathen, Jeremy, Margot, Cristen. Funeral services were held on December 30 at 10:00 a.m. and interment took place at Hebrew Sick Cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Unit 2, third floor at Seven Oaks Hospital, the staff of 3rd floor East Wing of Riverview Health Center for all the care and comfort they gave Avi. We would also like to say the biggest Thank-you to the lovely ladies from Home Care who made Dads last days at home comfortable.
