CHARLES A. LUND On Friday, December 31, 1999 after a brief illness, Charles A. Lund (Chuck) of LacLu, Ont. passed away. Besides his loving wife and best friend of 41 years Jeananne, surviving are his sister Diane (Glenn) Bradshaw (Winnipeg), his children, Karl (Karen) Lund, Thunder Bay, Ont., Susan (Kirby) Haines, Sidney, B.C., Christine (Larry) Paavola, Thunder Bay, Ont., David (Vicki) Lund, LacLu, Ont., Chosen Son Edward Kersch (Kenora). Also six grandchildren, Jeff, Chantel, Brandon, Jessica, Eric and Edward Jr., brother-in-law Jim (Morry-Lee) Hall and family, Ladysmith, B.C., as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Chuck was born on May 31, 1933 in Kenora, moved to Winnipeg at age nine. He worked for the CNR and then apprenticed as a Machinist with CPR. He moved to LacLu in 1959 and worked as a Machinist with the Kenora Paper Mill until his retirement in 1991. He spent many happy hours in the outdoors, helping his neighbours, and working in his workshop making many wonderful and useful items out of wood. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Kenora District Hospital and the Medical Intensive Care Unit on the 7th floor, Health Sciences Centre for all their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, at the Brown Funeral Home in Kenora, Ont., at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gordon Day-Janz officiating.
