GRACE WINNIFRED CHARTRAND (JONES) Peacefully, on Friday, December 31, 1999, at the Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, Grace Chartrand, passed away, at the age of 82 years. Grace was born November 11, 1917 in the Sandridge area. She was predeceased by her husband Gilles; two brothers in infancy; brother George and his wife Evelyn; sister Edie and husband Louie Anderson; her parents; two children in infancy; niece Patricia Kjartanson and brother-in-law Ted Kjartanson. She is survived by her children, Marie (Frank Ward), Debbie (John Rudolph) of Saskatoon, Eleanor (Paul Kolada) of Victoria, Doreen (John Ducharme) of Warren, Brian (Thelma) Chartrand of Winnipeg, Victor (Linda) Chartrand of Teulon. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grand-children; her sister Doris Kjartanson of Portage and nephew Ron (Mabel) Jones of Winnipeg. Mom spent most of her life in the Inwood area with Dad on the farm. After Dad became ill and passed away, Mom moved to Teulon, where she lived until she passed away. Mom loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mom loved her Bingo, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and reading. She loved travelling to B.C., going gambling in Reno and going to Winnipeg. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, January 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Cecelias Roman Catholic Church, Inwood, Man. Rev. Fr. S. Gacek will officiate with interment in the churchyard cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Jones, Roy Chartrand, Bruce Chartrand, Eric Chartrand, Art Sanderson and Maurice Chartrand. The family would like to thank Dr. Graham and Dr. McTaggart along with the nurses at the Teulon Hospital. We would also like to thank her home care workers at Gateway Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon, in care of arrangements.
