Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY FIRMAN (nee ABUDA) Peacefully, on December 31, 1999 at the Concordia, Mom/Baba passed away at the age of 84 years. Left to cherish her memory are her son Allan; daughter-in-law Lydia; grandchildren, Patrick, Derek (Ronda), Jamie, Kim; great-grandchildren, Dustin and Brendan. Mary is survived by her sister Eileen (Rudolph) Ciszewski; brother Peter (Bernice) Abuda; sisters-in-law, Kay (Norm) Shaw and Josie Drohomerski; brother-in-law Charlie Pidstawka and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1989; her son Jerry in October, 1999; her brothers, Mike, Joe and Bill, and her sisters, Katie Marchuk, Rose Pidstawka and Eva Zdan. Mary was born in Silver, Man. on February 2, 1915. After her marriage to Bill, Mom and Dad engaged in farming, later operating a General Store at Finns, Man. and in 1977 retired to Winnipeg. Moms enjoyments in life included her family, cooking, gardening and needlework. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, Main at Luxton. Rt. Rev. Archpriest Eugene Rudachek will celebrate the funeral service at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church in Arborg, Manitoba at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5. Interment will follow at the Arborg Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made in Marys memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
