THOMAS NORMAN PETRICK Thomas Norman Petrick of Winnipeg passed away peacefully at the Health Science Centre on January 5, 2000. He was 70 years of age. Thomas was born in Souris, MB on March 21, 1929. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Stella Petrick and his sister Barbara Pokeda (nee Petrick). He leaves to mourn his loving wife Verna (nee Lorette) of nearly 48 years; sons, Andrew (Maria), Richard, Douglas (Karen), Paul (Maureen) daughters, Patricia (Joseph), Kimberley (Greg) and 15 grandchildren, Lisa, Clarke, Jadahl and Dallas, Shawn, Bradley, Kayla and Adam, Anders, Monica and Stephanie, Thomas and Vanessa, Brendin and Danielle, and Sister Cheryl (Mike) Gibbs (nee Petrick). Toms career included Marshall Wells, Gambles and McLeods Canada where he retired as Dealer Development Manager in the late 80s. He enjoyed athletics in his youth and went on to coach and watch his children and grandchildren play many a sporting event. Tom was actively involved in the community, Knights of Columbus and the church. He loved camping, being at his summer place at Petersfield and winter home in Mesa, Arizona. Above all, Tom loved being with his family. They shared holidays together, graduations, celebrations, weddings and the birth of 15 grandchildren. Active pallbearers are Marcel Bouchard, Mike Gibbs, Jack Lorette, Jim Lorette, Ted Mozol, and Ernie Shettler. Honorary pallbearers are Moe Balcaen, Ed Balawyder, Dick Russell, Ray Staples, and Jerry Morris. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood Drive at 11:00 a.m. with viewing and private prayer at 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
