SISTER CELESTINE ANNE REINHARDT To have, to hold, to part is the greatest sorrow of our hearts. Sister Celestine Anne Reinhardt, Sister of Service, died peacefully in the 64th year of her religious life at the residence of the Sisters of Service in Regina, SK, on Wednesday, January 5, 2000. Born in Lajord, Sask., February 13, 1914, she was one of seven children born to Joseph Reinhardt and Agatha Bast. She was predeceased by her father Joseph in 1946 and her mother Agatha in 1985; her brother Sebastian; her sisters Elizabeth Warnke, Margaret Klein and Florence Knoll; brothers-in-law George Warnke, Martin Knoll, Roy Weinberger and Florian Klein. She is survived by her brother Tony (Jenny) her sister Josephine Weinberger; and sister-in-law Dorothy Reinhardt; as well as several nieces and nephews. Sister Celestine entered the Sister of Service in Toronto on August 2, 1936. Her entire religious life was spent in her beloved western provinces. She served on the staff of St. Johns Hospital, Edson, AB, the Winnipeg Girls S.O.S. Residence and as Superior on rural missions in all three provinces. A graduate of the Saskatoon Normal School, SK, she taught in Camp Norton, MB, Sinnett, SK, Peace River, Manning and Hawk Hills in Northern Alberta. Upon retirement from the teaching profession, she joined the staff of the Sisters of Service Religious Correspondence School in Regina until this program was transferred to the Archdiocese of Regina in 1991. Continuing to teach, she taught E.S.L. to new Canadians, helping them prepare for citizenship, complete high school, prepare for employment and assisting them in their adjustment to Canadian society. Her students will remember her as a dedicated and committed teacher, her family, as caring and prayerful in their lives and her community, as a devoted member and loyal friend. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2104 Garnet St., Regina, SK, with The Most Reverend Peter J. Mallon, Archbishop of Regina, Celebrant and Rev. Louis Kubash, Concelebrant. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. A Vigil Service will be held Friday, January 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home with Rev. Don McNeil presiding. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Peters Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, Box 154, Kronau, SK, S0G 2T0. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME, 306-757-8645.
