GRACE MURIEL DARLING WALKLETT (nee Trigwell) Suddenly and peacefully in the late afternoon of Tuesday January 4, 2000 at the Golden Links Lodge, Grace Muriel Darling Walklett, aged 90 years, widow of Herbert Isaac Walklett, completed her earthly life. Grace was predeceased by her husband Bert, her parents, and five of her seven sisters. She leaves to grieve in her passing her only son Raymond (Jean) and granddaughters, Ashley, Melissa, Carley; her remaining two sisters Norah (Teddy) and Robbie (Geordie), numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Grace will be lovingly remembered by both her family and many friends for her energy and love of life, which she lived fully. Grandma loved her music. She could play the piano, mandolin, and sing for days it seemed. Her sense of style was often noticed, quite frequently her range of hats being a topic of conversation. Her vitality was an inspiration to all whether it was swimming, speed skating, walking, or exercising. Mom was an unselfish person and had a sensitivity for the needs of others less fortunate than herself. She was very active right till her time of passing. Grace was born in Winnipeg and spent her early years in the Kirkfield Park area, later once married, moving to the west end of Winnipeg where she spent most of her life. Mom worked at The Bay for a short time and then devoted her life to being a wife and mother. Grace was very active in her Church along with her husband, performing a wide variety of functions. She was an example to all as the model wife, mother, and grandmother. Funeral Service will be held at the St. Patrick & St. Jude Anglican Church, 612 Valour Road at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 8, with the Rev J. L. Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3C 4G2, or the charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their thanks to the nursing staff of the Special Needs Unit at Golden Links Lodge for looking after Mom so well and always doing their best.
