STANLEY ALEXANDER HABINSKI On December 31, 1999, in Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan, ON, Stanley lost his fight with cancer. He was born January 9, 1924, in Cooks Creek, MB, son of Joseph and Agnes Habinski. Stan moved to Atikokan to become part of the mining industry in the late 1940s. In 1954 he married Gertrude Poitras and settled in Atikokan. Although Stan and Gertie had no children of their own, they spoiled their numerous nieces and nephews, both in Atikokan and Manitoba. Stanley is survived by five brothers and one sister. He was predeceased by his inlaws, Arthur and Eliza Poitras; and two sisters, Mary Campbell and Jean Sontag. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service held in Atikokan on January 4, 2000. Burial will take place later this spring in Cooks Creek, MB.
