LEON EMIL TERLECKI With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our dearly beloved husband, father, son and brother, Leon on Thursday, January 6, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Gail of 38 years; his two sons, Allan and Danny; his mother Olga Terlecki; his sister and brother-in-law, Lily and Bob Stefanick; also his aunt Jenny Bilas. Leon was predeceased by his father Emil on July 4, 1979. Leon was born in Winnipeg on September 2, 1937 and lived his entire life in the city. He was employed by the City of Winnipeg for 26 years and had to take early retirement in late 1987 due to ill health. He loved automobiles and lovingly restored his fathers 1956 Monarch. He was extremely proud of the car and enjoyed driving it. Leon loved sports, especially hockey, and participated in it when he was a young man. He had many talents and could fix just about anything. The family wish to sincerely thank all the Doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital for the care and treatment Leon received, as well as the kindness and compassion shown to the family. If friends so desire, donations in Leons memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6 or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 200 - 55 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1L8. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue with Rev. Fr. Paul Hancko officiating.
