TADEUSZ BENEDYKT WOJCIECHOWSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather Tadeusz Wojciechowski at St. Boniface Hospital on January 6, 2000 at the age of 74. He will be lovingly remembered by his family; daughter Teresa (Phil, with sons, Andre and Daniel) son Louis (Tina) and their daughter Hailey; daughter Barb (John) and their children, Brittany, Stephen and Alexa; daughter Ursula (Kai) and their son Liam; his brother Kazimierz (Min) of Holland, Europe; mother-in-law Karolina Tymczyszyn; sisters-in-law, Maria of California and Mary of Winnipeg; also, nieces, nephews and many friends. Tadeusz was predeceased by his loving wife Stefania; his parents, Maksymilian and Ludmila; brothers, Leon and Max of California. Tadeusz was born in Jablonowo, Poland on July 4, 1925 and came to Canada in 1945 as a young veteran of the Second World War. He was a member of the Polish Combatants Association, No. 13 and a proud Sargeant-at-Arms. He was also a member of the Polish Canadian Legion No. 34. He worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway and retired from the Weston Shops after more than 30 years. Dad took great pride in his family, provided us with much support, and encouraged us to be the best that we could be. He relished his close relationships with family and friends and was always willing to help everyone. It was sad for Dad to be without Mom. Now, we are happy that he is at peace and once again together with his beloved Stefania. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care. Prayers will be said on Sunday evening, January 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Polish War Invalids in care of the Polish Combatants Association, No. 13, 1364 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2W 3T8 or CancerCare Manitoba, MacCharles Unit, 100 Olivia Street, Wpg., R3E 0V9. God looked around His garden, And found an empty space, He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He knew the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered Peace be thine. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. We love you Dad/Dziadziu and always will. Wieczny odpoczynek racz mu dac, Panie Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
