Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFELICIDAD GUINTO It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Felicidad Guinto, a dear and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on January 7, 2000 at the age of 70 years. She has gone home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Felicidad was born on March 7, 1929 in Cavite, Philippines. She shared 52 wonderful years with her husband Mariano. Together they raised 11 children. Felicidad was a kind-hearted, patient, loving and generous person. She had always put other peoples needs before hers. She ran a small grocery store back in the Philippines and at the same time raised her children. She immigrated to Canada in 1981 with her husband and six of their children. She worked for 5 years at Richlu Sportswear until she suffered her first stroke. During her active years, Felicidad regularly attended church, enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, shopping for bargains, visiting friends, etc. Felicidad was a cheerful person. She brought enjoyment and laughter in the lives of those who knew her. She was the type of person, however, who easily got nervous but always found the strength to overcome her fears from her familys support and her close relationship with God. Felicidad recovered successfully from three prior strokes, each time developing a greater zest for life. She recently suffered her fourth stroke and this time God had decided to take her home. We thank God for the many wonderful years he granted Felicidad to us. Felicidad will be greatly missed by her husband Mariano; daughters, Marifel, Daisy (Choy), Clodeth (Joseph) sons, Noel (Vilma), Medic (Shirley), Ricardo (Olive), Hermie (Sally), and Zosimo (Nila) grandchildren, Hershey (Greg), Ron (Regyn), Raymond (Jackie), Sharolyn, Madel, Andrew, Anjo, Patrick, Joshua, Ace and Lorenz; great-grandchildren, Riley, Jordan and Raizel, all of Winnipeg. In the Philippines, Felicidad leaves to mourn in her passing three other daughters, Bernie (Pablo), Zeny (Ento) and Melda (Efren) grandchildren Johnell, Cristy, Obet, Glenda (John), Karen, Archie, Jenny, Jeff, Kathleen, Nerissa and Ephraim. Felicidad will be fondly remembered by niece Daisy Caturay and future son-in-law Rommel. Felicidads memory will also linger in the hearts of numerous cousins and other relatives and friends here in Canada and in the Philippines. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Arturo and Ester SanMiguel, Efren and Pando Ordonez, and many other friends who gave their support in this difficult time. Thanks as well to the nursing and medical staff of Health Sciences Centre D4 unit and the home care workers who provided warm and gently care to Felicidad. Viewing and lamay will be held at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Thursday, January 13, from 6:00 - 12:00 a.m., and Friday, January 14 from 6:00 - 2:00 a.m. A mass will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington Street. Pallbearers, Arturo SanMiguel, Efren Ordonez, Danilo Santos, Brigido Aran, Rene Morales, Benigno Torrijos, Nestor Gorospe, Rey Mendoza, Jess Casalla and David Banas. Interment will take place in the Philippines. Nanay Cidad: Words cannot express the sadness we feel on your passing. You left us so suddenly. But we understand that this is Gods decision. We are happy that you are now at peace. We just want to thank you for your kind, caring and thoughtful ways. We commend you for being an extraordinary "nanay"; for having the patience, devotion, and the strength to raise one big family, along with Tatay. Thank you for your love and understanding. We know there have been times when we hurt you, but you always found it in your heart to forgive us. The love you instilled in us will forever be with us. We will never forget you. Your memories will always linger in our hearts and in our minds. We love you very much and we will greatly miss you. Thank you for being our nanay.
